Modules

How investments and prices work

Each portfolio groups positions by ticker. You log buys, sells, dividends and fees, and netclariq calculates average cost, unrealized gain and realized gain.

Transactions and the FIFO method

Sales consume the oldest buys first (FIFO), a common tax treatment for homogeneous securities. Editing or deleting a transaction recalculates the whole sequence for that ticker.

Market prices

Prices update automatically when you open the module, using the market data available for each symbol. If an asset isn't traded, you can set its valuation manually.

Return and tax reporting

The module calculates money-weighted return and IRR (XIRR), accounting for contribution dates. The Tax view shows, by year, realized gains and losses and dividends received.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see a position I sold?
Closed positions are hidden by default; turn on the “Show closed” toggle to see them.
Are the tax figures usable for filing?
They're for guidance and help you prepare the information, but they don't replace advice from your tax professional.
